Common use
Pirfenex is a prescription drug used to treat idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). It helps to improve breathing by reducing scarring and edema in the lungs.
Dosage and direction
Follow your doctor's instructions for the dosage and duration of Pirfenex. It should not be chewed, crushed, or broken. Tabs Pirfenex should be consumed with food.
Precautions
If you have liver or kidney illness, tell your doctor before taking Pirfenex. Your doctor should also be aware of any other medications you are taking, as some of them may reduce the effectiveness or alter the way Pirfenex works. Contraindications
Pirfenex is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Pirfenidone or any of its ingredients.
It should not be used by patients with severe hepatic impairment or end-stage liver disease.
Individuals with severe renal impairment (CrCl <30 mL/min) or end-stage renal disease should also avoid using this medication.
Possible side effect
The majority of side effects of Pirfenex are minor and will go away as your body adjusts to the medicine. If they don't go away or you're concerned about them, Consult with your doctor. Drug interaction
Pirfenex may interact with CYP1A2 inhibitors (such as fluvoxamine and ciprofloxacin) and CYP1A2 inducers (like rifampicin and omeprazole).
Missed dose
If a dose of Pirfenex is missed, it should be taken as soon as remembered. However, if it is close to the time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue as normal. Do not take a double dose to compensate for a missed one.
Overdose
Overdosing on Pirfenex may cause severe gastrointestinal disturbances like nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. If signs of overdose are observed, consult with a doctor immediately.
Storage
Store Pirfenex it at a controlled room temperature between 20 C and 25 C. Avoid exposing the medication to excessive heat, humidity, or direct sunlight. Always keep this medicine out of reach of children and pets.
